April 23, 2008 I was able to watch the PTA webinar this evening regarding video game safety for our children. I would like to share a few resources with you that I acquired by viewing this free event. The webinar was held in conjunction with the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board). The ESRB has a widget that you can download to your computer to help you determine the rating of the game your child is playing. The widget is available on their website and I have placed it on our website as well, in both English and Spanish.

April 18, 2008 I read a terrific article today and I would like to share it with you. The article is titled Parental Involvement in School. One part of the article features a checklist of questions for parents to ask themselves, including the following:
*Am I creating in my child a love for learning?
*Do I see that my children do their homework every night?
*Have I met my children's teachers?
*Do I know my children's teachers' educational objectives?
*Do I know what my children's assignments are?
*Do I attend at least two parent-teacher conferences a year?
